We woke up in Bali feeling like we’d landed on a different planet—in the best way. After the quiet structure of Okinawa, Bali hit us with warm tropical air, the hum of scooters on the streets, and that “anything goes” beach-town energy. It was exactly what we needed.
Breakfast at the Hard Rock Hotel was our first stop. After arriving at 2 AM and crashing without dinner, we were starving. The buffet did not disappoint—fresh tropical fruit, piles of pastries, crispy bacon, and made-to-order omelets. We ate like we’d been shipwrecked the night before, then grabbed coffee and wandered outside to see what our new temporary home had to offer.
The pool was enormous—less of a pool and more of a lagoon, complete with winding curves, waterfalls, and a swim-up bar. Michael and I spotted a row of cabanas and decided to ask if any were available. At first, the answer was a polite “sorry, all booked,” but just as we turned to walk away, the staff mentioned a last-minute cancellation. We didn’t even hesitate—yes, please.

The cabana was everything: soft loungers, curtains for shade, a ceiling fan, and a call button for snacks and drinks. When we told Slade and Tara, their excitement said it all. Slade grabbed his towel and disappeared into the water within seconds, while Tara claimed her spot on the lounger, sipping a fruity mocktail and settling in like she’d just found her new favorite place on earth.

The day passed in that perfect vacation blur—swimming, lounging, people-watching, and letting time slow down. Between rounds of nachos and frozen drinks, we barely left the cabana except for quick pool dips. After the chaos of travel the day before, it felt like exactly what we needed.

By evening, we finally pried ourselves away from the pool and cleaned up for dinner at the Hard Rock Café. The music was loud, the burgers were amazing, and the vibe was pure energy—walls covered with guitars and memorabilia, and a staff that made you feel like the night could turn into a concert at any moment. It was the perfect ending to our first full day in Bali.

We walked back to the hotel stuffed, sun-soaked, and blissfully tired. Bali already feels like a whole new adventure waiting to unfold, and today was just the beginning. Michael and I stopped for a drink at the Center Stage. The Music was Amazing.

Thanks for taking this detour with me—I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
